Terma Gallery is thrilled to launch our brand new website! We hope very much that you like the design and all the features. You will find the latest artwork from Bhutanese artists and there will be more artwork from new artists in the next few months.
Terma Gallery plans to open a physical exhibition space in Thimphu, Bhutan late December 2021 or after the Lunar new year 2022. The gallery also will launch a new seasonal exhibition and will be followed by a series of solo and group presentations by artists from across the gallery’s program of leading Bhutanese contemporary artists and classical Thangka painting masters.
Exhibitions will be open to the public and the gallery will offer extended hours by appointment seven days per week.
Our new venture is primarily an opportunity to engage with private collectors and other colleagues in Thimphu as well as a foreign visitor to Bhutan. Remarkable works are being made in our artists’ studios and we felt compelled to show them to the public; Thimphu town seemed to be an ideal place for this endeavor. We believe that visitors would be very much appreciative of the unparalleled experience of viewing Bhutanese works of art ‘in real life’ because at this point in time art galleries are almost non-existent in Bhutan..
Passang Tobgay, Artist and Founder of Terma, comments:
“As an artist and founder, I am committed to bringing the best of everything to Thimphu town. How humbled I would feel to help bring these spectacular works of art into more people’s lives is immeasurable. And I am excited to watch as our customers stumble upon a majestic work of art which turns a day of shopping into a day of magic.”
We’d be delighted if you sign up to our ‘Mailing List’. You would then receive invitations to the exhibition and events as well as news and articles so that you don’t miss out on anything that we are doing.
